
GymDawgs Claim Event Winner, Co-Champ In Narrow Loss To No. 22 Maryland

COLLEGE PARK β Washington earned one event win and one co-championship but fell to No. 22 Maryland, 194.625β193.575, on Saturday night at Xfinity Center.
The GymDawgs opened the meet on bars with a strong performance, led by Deiah Moody's season-high 9.850 to claim the event title. Olivia Oppegard followed with a season-high 9.825, highlighted by a stick dismount, while Caitlin McWilliams and Lilly Tubbs each added a 9.700. Washington finished the rotation with a total score of 48.300.
On vault, the Huskies posted a 48.500, their second-best rotation of the night. Caitlin McWilliams recorded a season-high 9.725, while Kira Bolden and Jessica Schaffer tied for the team lead with matching 9.800s. Bolden's score matched her season high, and Schaffer earned a career-high 9.800.

Washington returned after the second half of the meet on floor with a 48.000 total. McWilliams again led the way with a 9.825, matching her season high. Schaffer followed with a 9.725, while Mary McDonough and Chelsea Hallinan each earned season-best 9.650s. Hallinan was competing in the floor lineup for just the second time this season.
The GymDawgs closed the night on beam with their strongest event score, posting a 48.775. Lana Navarro opened the rotation with a 9.825, and Lilly Tubbs added a 9.800. Chelsea Hallinan capped the meet by tying for the event championship with a 9.875.
