August 31, 2025 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE – Washington got back to winning ways on Sunday in emphatic fashion, taking down UNLV 4-0 at Husky Soccer Stadium.
The Dawgs improve to 1-2-1 on the season while UNLV drops to 1-1-1.
Four different players found the back of the net in the win, led by Zach Ramsey who contributed a corner kick assist and a goal for three total points. It's the first game the Huskies have bagged at least four goals in since a 4-1 win over Grand Canyon on September 24, 2022.
Harrison Bertos opened the scoring for Washington in the 24th minute, sending home a perfect corner kick cross from Ramsey. Bertos met the ball at the far post and used his chest to put the Huskies in front for good.
Just two minutes later, Ramsey added his goal to double the advantage. A lightning fast counter attack by Washington capped by a cross from the left flank by Richie Aman was helped along by Chad Sovde in the box before Ramsey smashed it home.
It was Sovde's first career point and Ramsey's first goal of the season.
The Huskies took a 2-0 advantage into the halftime break, but didn't let up after the restart.
In the 64th minute, Washington added a third goal. This time, the buildup came from Joe Dale who picked out Aman. From the left side again, Aman delivered a perfect cross to the far post and picked out a streaking Osato Enabulele who hammered the ball home.
It was Aman's second assist of the day and the first career goal for the freshman Enabulele. He's the first newcomer to find the back of the net this season.
Despite a 3-0 advantage, Washington continued to press forward. The Huskies were rewarded for their relentless effort with a fourth goal in the 88th minute.
Freshman Carter Gay controlled the ball in the box and launched a shot on target. It was blocked by a UNLV defender and fell for Conner Leber who added another goal for the Huskies.
Leber and Gay were yet another pair of first-time scorers for the Dawgs. It was Leber's first goal for Washington and Gay's first career point.
The Huskies head back on the road next, taking on LMU in Los Angeles on Friday, September 5. Washington's next home game is September 12 against Michigan State in the first Big Ten game of the season.
