Huskies Battle To 2-2 Draw Against LMU
September 04, 2025 | Men's Soccer
LOS ANGELES – The Huskies came back from 1-0 down to take a 2-1 lead, but ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 draw against LMU on Thursday night.
Washington moves to 1-2-2 on the season with the result. The tie against the Lions is Washington's third game in a row registerring a tie or a win after dropping two losses to begin the season.
Nothing separated the two sides after the first 45 minutes. In the opening minute of the second half, however, the Lions jumped in front.
Down a goal, the Huskies applied the pressure through the controlling midfield and pushed up the pitch in search of an equalizer. In the 66th minute, they were rewarded.
Joe Dale controlled the ball on the right flank and found room to deliver a cross into the box. Near the far post, Zach Ramsey headed the ball off the woodwork before it bounced off an LMU defender and in. The goal was originally ruled as scored by Ramsey, but was overturned to be credited as an own goal.
Just five minutes later, Washington took the lead. This time, it was the freshman Clarens Dollin who began the progression on the left side of the pitch.
Dollin centered a ball to a streaking Ramsey in the center of the box who then flicked it on for Richie Aman to finish for the goal.
It was Dollin's first career point, Ramsey's fifth point in the last three games, and Aman's second goal of the season.
The Lions were desperately looking for a way back into the game when they found an equalizer on a long shot in the 87th minute to knot the game at 2-2.
The teams were evenly matched in the contest, as each recorded 12 shots and three saves. LMU held the advantage in corner kicks, taking three to Washington's one.
Richie Aman and Zach Ramsey led the Huskies with three shots each, including two on target for Aman. Ramsey and Aman, along with Harrison Bertos, Egor Akulov, Alex Hall, Joe Dale, Cameron Cruz, Connor Lofy, and Levi Bieber played the full 90 minutes in the game.
Washington only used two substitutes against LMU in freshmen Clarens Dollin and Osato Enabulele. Dollin featured in 48 minutes as a reserve, surpassing his previous high of 36 minutes at Denver.
The Huskies return to action in a rivalry match at Seattle U on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
