POSTSEASON DAWGS
Washington is making its 31st consecutive regional appearance (every season since 1994 - the second year of the program) this weekend. It is tied for the longest active streak in the nation with Oklahoma. The Huskies are 87-20 all-time in regionals and 54-12 under head coach Heather Tarr. All 15 of Washington's Super Regional appearances have come under Coach Tarr. The Huskies' 135 total win the NCAA Tournament are fourth-most all-time behind UCLA (248), Arizona (187) and Oklahoma (165).

BIG TEN FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Alexis DeBoer is the first Husky to earn conference freshman of the year honors since Taran Alvelo in 2016. On the season, she is batting .369 with nine doubles, a triple, 20 home runs, 26 walks and 54 RBI. She became just the fifth Big Ten freshman to hit 20 or more home runs in a season and the second Husky freshman to accomplish the feat alongside Jenny Topping in 2000 (24). It is the first "Of The Year" award for Washington since Baylee Klingler won Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2022.

NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alexis DeBoer was named D1Softball National Player of the Week after the Black and Orange Classic to close out the non-conference tournament season. The freshman posted a .538 batting average with seven hits, a double, five home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and drew five walks while posting a 1.769 slugging percentage. On the season, DeBoer is batting .372 with a team-leading six doubles and 11 walks. She is on a 10-game hitting streak and has 13 consecutive games with an RBI. It is the first national player of the week honor since Olivia Johnson was named NFCA Player of the Week in 2022.

BIG TEN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
For the first time in program history, a pair of Dawgs have been named Big Ten players of the week following a 6-0 weekend at the OUTRIGGER Invitational. Freshman Alexis DeBoer won Player of the Week, while senior Stevie Hansen was named Pitcher of the Week. DeBoer once again earned Big Ten honor on May 5 as Freshman of the Week after the Penn State series. Washington is one of three Big Ten schools that had a player, pitcher and freshman of the week honor during the season joining UCLA and Oregon.

NFCA FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR TOP 10
Alexis DeBoer was named one of 10 finalists of NFCA National Freshman of the Year on May 8. She is the fourth Husky to be named a Top 10 finalist alongside Gabbie Plain (2018), Sis Bates (2017) and Taylor Van Zee (2015). She is one of three Big Ten freshman named to the 2025 list, joining UCLA's Addisen Fisher and Oregon's Rylee McCoy. The three finalists will be released on May 22 with the winner will be revealed on May 27 prior to the start of the Women's College World Series.

A NEW ERA FOR WASHINGTON
The 2024-25 athletic year marks the inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference for Washington Athletics. On Aug. 2, 2024, the Huskies became official members of the Big Ten along with UCLA, USC and Oregon.

Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) announced on April 3 that they are making a stop in Seattle from July 11-13 at Husky Softball Stadium. A pair of Husky All-Americans will make their return to UW in Baylee Klingler (Blaze) and Sis Bates (Volts) in the three-game series. Since 2018, the Huskies have posted a 109-27 record at Husky Softball Stadium, including a 17-3 record in 2023 and 11-4 in 2024. Washington is 8-4 at home this season. Over the 12 games at Husky Softball Stadium this season, the Huskies averaged 1,460 attendees which ranks 16th in the nation and the third highest in the Big Ten behind Nebraska (2,228; 4th) and Oregon (1,865; 11th). Washington leads the Big Ten with a 97.31% capacity filled.

GETTING IT DONE IN THE CIRCLE
The Washington pitching staff of Sophia Ramuno, Stevie Hansen, Morgan Reimer and Madi Balk has combined for 13 shutouts on the season, 20th-most in the NCAA and third-most in the Big Ten. Their 3.77 strikeout-to-walk ratio is fifth best in the nation. The staff's 7.66 strikeouts per seven innings ranks ninth in Division I and 1.16 WHIP is 15th. Individually, Ramuno's 6.27 strikeout-to-walk ratio is second in the conference while coming in sixth nationally. Her 138 strikeouts is 60th-most in DI and 8.8 strikeouts per seven innings comes in 17th. Hansen is eighth in the B1G with her 1.09 WHIP which comes in 43rd in the nation. UW is on track to have three pitchers with 10 or more wins. Reimer leads the team with 15, while Ramuno has 10 and Hansen has seven. The last time the Huskies had three pitchers with 10 or more wins was in 2012 with Kaitlin Inglesby (19), Kasey Stanchek (10) and Bryana Walker (10).

DEBUT MOMENTS
During the first three weeks of the season, 16 Huskies made their debut in the Purple and Gold. Ten saw time in game one against Alabama - Alexis DeBoer, Charity Sevaaetasi, Alycia Flores, Riley Peschek, Gabi Toney, Addie Craig, Morgan Reimer, Ava Carroll, Tia Durst, Rylee Rehbein and Sophi Mazzola. Three more saw time in the second game of the day against Arizona - Jade Bubke, Stevie Hansen and Sophia Ramuno. Madi Balk made her Washington debut during week two against Utah Valley. Freshman Annika Ticen made her debut as a pinch runner against UC Riverside on Feb. 20.

OPENING WEEKEND SUCCESS
Dating back to 2014, the Huskies are 50-8 during opening weekend. In 2023, the Huskies went 4-1 at the Mark Campbell Invitational with the lone loss coming against Oklahoma. In 2024, UW went 3-1 at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge with the lone also coming against the Sooners in extra innings. Prior to that, Washington went undefeated the previous three seasons over opening weekend.

HOME RUN DUO
Washington has had five consecutive seasons with two or more Huskies with double-digit home runs (and nine of the last 10 complete seasons). 2019 was the lone complete season where two Huskies did not get over the mark. This season freshman Alexis DeBoer (20) and Jadyn Glab (14) are keeping the tradition while leading the team in homers.

Senior pitcher Stevie Hansen threw the 51st no-hitter in program history against UC Riverside at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Feb. 20. It was the second no-hitter of Hansen's career - her first came against Utah Valley in 2023 when she was at Oregon. The lone base runner in the game came in the first inning, reaching on an error.

SIMPLY PERFECT
Stevie Hansen threw the ninth perfect game is Washington softball history on March 9 versus Montana. She struck out six of the 15 batters faced in the 11-0 five inning victory over the Griz. Hansen is the fifth Husky pitcher to throw a perfect game joining Nancy Wagner, Jamie Graves, Danielle Lawrie and Gabbie Plain. It was the third no-hitter of Hansen's career and second this season for the senior.

This summer, freshman Morgan Reimer played for the Canadian Junior National Team at the U-18 Softball World Cup Group Stage, helping the team qualify for the 2025 World Cup. During the event, Reimer posted a 0.00 ERA with a 2-0 record over 14.2 innings. She struck out 29 batters and threw a perfect game against Australia. Additional this past summer, head coach Heather Tarr and former Husky Sis Bates led Team USA to a silver medal at the WBSC World Cup Finals. Taran Alvelo joined Team Puerto Rico for the World Cup. Baylee Klingler represented Team USA in the Japan All-Star Series. Representing Team Mexico this summer were Lindsay Lopez and Jillian Celis at the Canada Cup.

Assistant coach Brad Kilpatrick has been named to the roster for the 2025 WBSC Men's World Cup Finals held from July 8-13 in Prince Albert, Canada.

TOUGH SCHEDULE
Washington has a tough schedule ahead with eight teams ranked on receiving votes in the preseason NFCA poll. The Huskies opened the season with four of their first five games against a ranked team in then-No. 11 Alabama and then-No. 16 Arizona. The Week 14 NFCA poll sees eight opponents in the Top 25 in No. 6 Oregon, No. 9 UCLA, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 12 Arizona, No. 18 Mississippi State, No. 19 Nebraska, No. 20 Alabama and No. 23 Grand Canyon. The Huskies have played 13 games against ranked opponents. Washington will play No. 18 Mississippi State in the opening game of the Lubbock Regional with the potential to see No. 10 Texas Tech in the second game.

ROAD DAWGS
The Huskies opened the first five weeks of the season in the road beginning at the Candrea Classic (Feb. 7-9). Washington went back down to The Grand Canyon State for the Littlewood Classic (Feb. 14-16). The Dawgs continued their road swing with a 12-day trip beginning at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 20-23) then traveled to Northridge for the first mid-week contest of the season versus CSUN on Feb. 24. UW then went over to Hawaii for the OUTRIGGER Invitational (Feb. 26- March 1). The final tournament of the season came at the Black and Orange Classic in Pocatello, Idaho (March 8-10). The Dawgs traveled 12,175 miles in the month of February and beginning of March. In conference action and postseason, the Huskies added on 17,430 miles bringing the total to 29,605 miles thus far this season.

NOTES ON COACH TARR
The all-time winningest coach in Washington Athletics history, Heather Tarr eclipsed 800 career wins last season. Her career .721 winning percentage ranks 11th among active Division I softball head coaches with a minimum five years as a head coach. Her 854 wins are 25th most among active coaches. Texas Tech enters the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 45-12 and 20-4 in the Big 12. The Red Raiders were the regular season and tournament champions to earn the 12-seed in the NCAA Tournament. In the circle, the Texas Tech pitching staff ranks in the Top 10 in ERA (1.87; 3rd), shutouts (23; 1st), strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.18; 11th), WHIP (.97; 1st). The Red Raiders are also 11th in team strikeouts per seven innings (7.18). Individually, NiJaree Canady leads the nation with her 0.81 ERA and 3.44 hits allowed per seven innings. She is fourth in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.51) and strikeouts (263). Her 0.69 WHIP is second in the nation. Offensively, the Red Raiders are led by Raegan Jennings with a .397 average in her 40 games. Lauren Allred leads the team with 45 RBI while a trio lead with eight home runs in Allred, Alexa Langeliers and Canady.

Washington leads the all-time series versus Texas Tech 13-1. The last meeting between the two programs came in 2022 at the Clearwater Invitational where the Huskies won 1-0 on a solo home run by Baylee Klingler in the sixth inning.

Mississippi State enters the postseason with an overall record of 37-17 and 13-11 in the Southeastern Conference. Offensively, Sierra Sacco is eighth nationally with her .461 batting average and 14th with her .553 on base percentage. She also leads the team with 16 doubles and 48 RBI while tied for the team lead with Kiarra Sells with 11 home runs. In the circle, Raelin Chaffin leads the team with a 2.65 ERA and a 21-9 record in 40 appearances and 27 starts. She has struck out 187 batters in her 171.2 innings of work.

Washington is 7-1 all-time versus Mississippi State. The last meeting between the team came in the 2019 Seattle Regional. The Huskies faced the Bulldogs earlier in the season as well in the Puerto Vallarta Collegiate Classic where UW won 7-5.

Brown enters the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 33-15 and 13-8 in the Ivy League. The Bears won the conference tournament to earn the automatic bid in the first year under head coach Mary Holt-Kelsch. Alexis Guevara is 19th in the nation with her 1.75 ERA and 13th with her 4.88 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Her 161 strikeouts are 35th nationally and 20 victories are 25th. Laurel Moody leads the team offensively with her .436 average, 15 home runs and 42 RBI. Abby Bettencourt leads the team with 11 doubles.

Washington and Brown have met once before back in 2013 at the CSU Tournament in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Huskies won the meeting 11-0 in five innings.

Additional this past summer, head coach Heather Tarr and former Husky Sis Bates led Team USA to a silver medal at the WBSC World Cup Finals. Taran Alvelo joined Team Puerto Rico for the World Cup. Baylee Klingler represented Team USA in the Japan All-Star Series. Representing Team Mexico this summer were Lindsay Lopez and Jillian Celis at the Canada Cup.

Assistant coach Brad Kilpatrick has been named to the roster for the 2025 WBSC Men's World Cup Finals held from July 8-13 in Prince Albert, Canada.

TOUGH SCHEDULE
Washington has a tough schedule ahead with eight teams ranked on receiving votes in the preseason NFCA poll. The Huskies opened the season with four of their first five games against a ranked team in then-No. 11 Alabama and then-No. 16 Arizona. The Week 14 NFCA poll sees eight opponents in the Top 25 in No. 6 Oregon, No. 9 UCLA, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 12 Arizona, No. 18 Mississippi State, No. 19 Nebraska, No. 20 Alabama and No. 23 Grand Canyon. The Huskies have played 13 games against ranked opponents. Washington will play No. 18 Mississippi State in the opening game of the Lubbock Regional with the potential to see No. 10 Texas Tech in the second game.

ROAD DAWGS
The Huskies opened the first five weeks of the season in the road beginning at the Candrea Classic (Feb. 7-9). Washington went back down to The Grand Canyon State for the Littlewood Classic (Feb. 14-16). The Dawgs continued their road swing with a 12-day trip beginning at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 20-23) then traveled to Northridge for the first mid-week contest of the season versus CSUN on Feb. 24. UW then went over to Hawaii for the OUTRIGGER Invitational (Feb. 26- March 1). The final tournament of the season came at the Black and Orange Classic in Pocatello, Idaho (March 8-10). The Dawgs traveled 12,175 miles in the month of February and beginning of March. In conference action and postseason, the Huskies added on 17,430 miles bringing the total to 29,605 miles thus far this season.

NOTES ON COACH TARR
The all-time winningest coach in Washington Athletics history, Heather Tarr eclipsed 800 career wins last season. Her career .721 winning percentage ranks 11th among active Division I softball head coaches with a minimum five years as a head coach. Her 854 wins are 25th most among active coaches. Tarr is one of 11 coaches in the Top 25 (active) to have all of her wins come at one school joining Oklahoma's Patty Gasso (1559; 31 seasons), South Florida's Ken Eriksen (1160; 28 seasons), USC Upstate's Chris Hawkins (1136; 31 seasons), Lehigh's Fran Troyan (967; 30 seasons), Eastern Kentucky's Jane Worthington (946; 33 seasons), Houston Christian's Mary-Ellen Hall (920; 34 seasons), UAlbany's Chris Cannata (886; 30 seasons), Texas State's Ricci Woodard (878; 25 seasons), UCLA's Kelly Inouye-Perez (867; 19 seasons), and BYU's Gordon Eakin (863; 23 seasons).

SCOUTING THE RED RAIDERS
Texas Tech enters the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 45-12 and 20-4 in the Big 12. The Red Raiders were the regular season and tournament champions to earn the 12-seed in the NCAA Tournament. In the circle, the Texas Tech pitching staff ranks in the Top 10 in ERA (1.87; 3rd), shutouts (23; 1st), strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.18; 11th), WHIP (.97; 1st). The Red Raiders are also 11th in team strikeouts per seven innings (7.18). Individually, NiJaree Canady leads the nation with her 0.81 ERA and 3.44 hits allowed per seven innings. She is fourth in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.51) and strikeouts (263). Her 0.69 WHIP is second in the nation. Offensively, the Red Raiders are led by Raegan Jennings with a .397 average in her 40 games. Lauren Allred leads the team with 45 RBI while a trio lead with eight home runs in Allred, Alexa Langeliers and Canady.

ALL-TIME VS. TEXAS TECH
Washington leads the all-time series versus Texas Tech 13-1. The last meeting between the two programs came in 2022 at the Clearwater Invitational where the Huskies won 1-0 on a solo home run by Baylee Klingler in the sixth inning.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Mississippi State enters the postseason with an overall record of 37-17 and 13-11 in the Southeastern Conference. Offensively, Sierra Sacco is eighth nationally with her .461 batting average and 14th with her .553 on base percentage. She also leads the team with 16 doubles and 48 RBI while tied for the team lead with Kiarra Sells with 11 home runs. In the circle, Raelin Chaffin leads the team with a 2.65 ERA and a 21-9 record in 40 appearances and 27 starts. She has struck out 187 batters in her 171.2 innings of work.

ALL-TIME VS. MISSISSIPPI STATE
Washington is 7-1 all-time versus Mississippi State. The last meeting between the team came in the 2019 Seattle Regional. The Huskies faced the Bulldogs earlier in the season as well in the Puerto Vallarta Collegiate Classic where UW won 7-5.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
Brown enters the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 33-15 and 13-8 in the Ivy League. The Bears won the conference tournament to earn the automatic bid in the first year under head coach Mary Holt-Kelsch. Alexis Guevara is 19th in the nation with her 1.75 ERA and 13th with her 4.88 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Her 161 strikeouts are 35th nationally and 20 victories are 25th. Laurel Moody leads the team offensively with her .436 average, 15 home runs and 42 RBI. Abby Bettencourt leads the team with 11 doubles.

ALL-TIME VS. BROWN
Washington and Brown have met once before back in 2013 at the CSU Tournament in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Huskies won the meeting 11-0 in five innings.
