AZUSA, Calif. โ Washington's milers put their incredible depth on display once again tonight at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Six Husky women went sub 4:15 in the 1,500-meters and Chloe Foerster got the win in a Meet Record 4:05.75 that ranks No. 5 in NCAA history. Then the men got a win from Nathan Green in 3:35.52 as he led four Dawgs under the 3:40 barrier.
ย
The tremendous showing from the mid-distance crew capped off another long day of competition at two sites for the Huskies, as the sprinters and jumpers had productive days at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Bryan Clay Invitational
ย
Two weeks ago, Foerster started her outdoor season with a pair of dominant wins at the Stanford Invitational, including a win in the 1,500-meters that day by seven seconds. It wasn't a seven-second win today, but Foerster still dropped an extremely loaded field on her way to breaking a seven-year-old Meet Record held by former U.S. Champion Shelby Houlihan.
ย
Foerster's 4:05.75 took nearly two full seconds off her PR, moved her to No. 5 in the NCAA all-time and No. 2 this season.
ย
Sophie O'Sullivan, who returned to action yesterday in the 800-meters with a stellar 2:00.61, doubled back and took third tonight in 4:08.69, which will put her in the top-10 this season.
ย
Maggie Liebich dropped a PR of 4:12.65 to go to No. 8 in Husky history, and Mia Cochran and Amina Maatoug, racing for the first time since her epic double at NCAA Indoors, both ran the same time of 4:12.65 to tie for 10th in school history. Claire Yerby also clocked herself a PR of 4:14.78, and Julia David-Smith went 4:17.33.
ย
Green got a small measure of revenge with his win in the men's elite section, as he held off Georgetown's Abel Teffra, who won the NCAA Indoor mile title just ahead of Green last month. It was Green's first race since that indoor title race, and he quickly moves up into the top-five nationally with his 3:35.52.
ย
Ronan McMahon-Staggs earned a new PR in the same heat, going 3:38.23. In a later heat, Rhys Hammond also lowered his PR down to 3:38.24, and freshman Martin Barco impressed with a 3:39.72. McMahon-Staggs and Hammond now rank fifth and sixth in school history. Barco's time would have tied for 10th coming into today, but now is a couple tenths off the list.
ย
Ben MacMillan ran a 3:42.35 and in the day's earlier sections, Isaac Briggs won his heat in 3:46.11, one day after he ran a steeplechase PR of 8:43 at the Mt. SAC Relays.
ย
Mt. SAC Relays
ย
At Hilmer-Lodge Stadium in Walnut, the Huskies had their third day of action at the Mt. SAC Relays. The big highlight came from freshman Bodi Ligons who took the win in the men's 400-meter hurdles in a PR of 51.10, going to No. 8 in school history.
ย
Close behind was senior Matthew Wilkinson who ran 51.40, the second-fastest time of his career and the fastest since 2022.
ย
Freshman Mikayla Gardley had a PR of her own in the women's 400m hurdles, going 1:01.33.
ย
Danielle Hunter had season-bests in the short sprints, going 11.83 in the 100-meters and 24.11 in the 200-meters.
ย
Sophomore Ava Washburn had two PRs on the day, going 19-1 1/4 in the long jump and then coming back for a triple jump PR of 39-6 1/2. Rachel Bir also PR'd in the triple, going 39-5 1/4.
ย
Leland Lieberg had a best high jump make of 6-6 3/4 today while Avril Wilson went 12-9 1/2 in the pole vault.
ย
In the men's triple jump, Roman Hutchinson had a best of 48-7 1/4 and Tim Luebbert went 47-11 3/4.
