Huskies Tie For 13th At The Goodwin
March 29, 2025 | Men's Golf
PALO ALTO, Calif. โย Behind under-par rounds from Jack Murphy and Finn Koelle, the Washington men's golf team closed out the 2025 The Goodwin with a four-over day, tying for 13th in the robust field at the Stanford Golf Course.
"Overall a step forward this week," head coach Alan Murray said. "Today, we had the opportunity to have a really good score but we just couldn't convert our chances and we made some mistakes coming in. That said, we leave here really encouraged though and excited for our next tournament."
Murphy led the way for the Dawgs for most of the tournament, firing his second 69 in as many days on Saturday to tie for 21st at one-over, the second best finish of his freshman season.
ย
Koelle matched Murphy's 69, rebounding for a tough second round Friday to end the weekend six shots over, tying with teammate Jack Foley and others for 55th. Foley carded a four-over 74 in the third round.
Drew Warford followed up a one-over second round with another solid showing on Saturday, firing a 72 to finish the tournament at nine-over, tied for 87th. Amilkar Bhana struggled through a 79 on Sunday, ending tied for 104th at 12-over.
"It was a good tournament from Jack,ย he continues to get better each and every week, andย Finn bounced back well today," Murray said. "Drew was close to a really good round today and Jake had a couple of three-putts coming in that took a little shine off a solid tournament."
ย
Washington will have two weeks to prepare for its final tournament of the regular season, heading to Santa Cruz, California, to take part in the San Jose State josted Western Intercollegiate April 14-16.
