UW Men’s Golf Concludes Duck Invitational In 12th
March 25, 2025 | Men's Golf
EUGENE, Ore. – The UW men's golf team wrapped up the Duck Invitational on Tuesday, finishing in 12th place at 23 shots over par.
The round was marred by a DQ for sophomore Finn Koelle due to an incorrectly signed scorecard.
"A disappointing day overall," head coach Alan Murray said. "Finn signed for a wrong scorecard. He shot one-under but signed for two-under and that's a disqualification. We had to count Amilkar's score instead in the final round"
With Koelle's 70 nullified, Jack Murphy and Drew Warford led the day for the Huskies, posting matching two-over 73s. Murphy finished at the head of the pack for UW a tie for 32nd at four-over, while Warford was next up in a tie for 45th, finishing the tournament six-over.
"Jack had a solid tournament is starting to find his feet in college golf," Murray continued. "He wanted to finish higher this week of course but it was another step forward. Drew played some good stuff but the scorecard didn't reflect it."
Jake Foley posted a four-over 75 to finish the tournament tied for 66th at 11-over, while Amilkar Bhana's 77 was good for an overall score of nine-over, tied for 59th.
UW individuals Brock Maulding and Justin Hopkins carded a 77 and 81, respectively, capping the tournament in a tie for 78th and 89th.
"We have a really quick turnaround now as we play at the Goodwin in Palo Alto on Thursday," Murray concluded. "We fly to the Bay Area tonight and play our practice round tomorrow afternoon."
