Dawgs In 12th After Opening Day Of Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. – The Washington men's golf team racked up 31 birdies on Monday during the first two rounds of the Duck Invitational. UW concluded the first two rounds of play in 12th at seven-over.
UW posted an nine-over 577 overall for the day.
The Huskies finished round one in a tie for 12th and embarked on the second round of the day, having carded a seven-over 291.
Washington improved its score by six strokes in the second round, coming in at a single shot over par.
Amilkar Bhana and Drew Warford, led a tightly packed group of four scorers for Washington, posting matching one-over scores, one shot ahead of Finn Koelle and two shots up on Jack Murphy.
Freshmen Murphy and Foley teamed up to post matching one-under 70s in the second round of the day, with the former taking over control of the team lead heading into Tuesday's final round, tied for 34th at two-over.
Foley, meanwhile, sits tied for 67th at seven-over, overall.
Bhana posted 14 pars and a birdie for a two-over round to come in at three-over and tied for 46th, while Koelle fired five birdies in the second round, but mixed in five bogeys and a double bogey to come in at four-over for the tournament, tied for 44th. Tied with Koelle is Warford, who rounded out Washington's lineup, carding a three-over 74 second round.
Meanwhile, playing as individuals, Brock Maulding and Justin Hopkins wrapped up the day for UW at 11 and 17-over, respectively.
The third and final round of the Duck Invitational will kick off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. PT.
