
Washington Earns Third At Big Four Meet

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Washington gymnastics team secured a third-place finish at the Big Four Meet on Sunday evening at Xtream Arena. No. 7 Michigan State took the top spot, followed by host Iowa, while No. 25 Penn State finished behind the GymDawgs.
Washington opened the meet with a strong vault rotation, led by Emily Innes and Mary McDonough, who each scored 9.800. Innes' score matched her season high. Kira Bolden followed with a 9.775, while Caitlin McWilliams and Kristin Lin posted 9.725s. Lex Mouyenga added a 9.700 to round out the lineup.
On bars, McDonough set a career high with a 9.900, tying Taylor Russon for the Huskies' top score of the event. Olivia Oppegard delivered a clean routine and stuck her dismount to earn a 9.850, while Lin and Bolden each recorded 9.700s.
The Huskies maintained their momentum on beam, highlighted by Russon's 9.900 and Chelsea Hallinan's 9.850. Oppegard and McDonough each contributed 9.775s.
Washington closed out the meet with an electric floor rotation. Innes claimed a share of the event title with a 9.900, while Oppegard matched her career and season high with a 9.900. Russon earned a 9.775, and McWilliams added a 9.750.
