SEATTLE – Washington struggled against Indiana on Saturday, falling to the Hoosiers 78-62 at Alaska Airlines Arena.
It was Indiana's first visit to Seattle.
Franck Kepnang emphatically blocked a shot that led to a Tyler Harris bucket which made the score 67-54 with less than five minutes remaining.
After trailing 44-30 at halftime, the Huskies cut the deficit to seven just over three minutes into the second half when Vazoumana Diallo hit a three-pointer.
The teams traded baskets early on, but the Hoosiers went on a 21-4 run to build a 24-9 lead with 9:32 remaining in the first half.
Mekhi Mason scored eight points in the first half and opened the scoring with a triple after being recognized pregame for joining the 1,000-point club.
Diallo led the Dawgs with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting.
Harris, Mason and Kepnang each scored 10 points. Harris grabbed nine rebounds while Kepnang secured eight.
UW hits the road for a Wednesday tilt with USC on Big Ten Network before returning home for the regular-season finale on Sunday, Mar. 9 against Oregon.
