EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 8 Washington women's soccer team battled back from a halftime deficit on Sunday at Papé Field but a late goal gave Oregon the result on the day as UW closed out the regular season.

The Huskies, who clinched the Big Ten Regular Season Championship last Sunday, turn their attention to the Big Ten Tournament, hosted by Purdue, in which UW will be the top seed.

Washington will play the winner of No. 8 seed Ohio State and No. 9 seed Illinois in the quarterfinal round on Nov. 2 in West Lafayette, Indiana. Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. PT, streaming on B1G+.

The Dawgs and Ducks finished tied on shots at nine apiece in a rough-and-tumble battle in Eugene, with 39 total fouls committed between the two sides.

While UW controlled possession throughout the first half, Oregon struck first against the run of play, with Carys Hall tapping in a loose ball in the six to make it 1-0 Ducks in the 35^th minute.

Just a few minutes after Tanner Ijam's tip save pushed the ball onto the crossbar to keep the deficit at one, Avery Nguyen's shot from the left side of goal was deflected, wrong-footing UO keeper Caeley Goldstein and evening the affair at 1-1.

Less than five minutes after the restart, Oregon sprung on the counter attack, sending Taylor Bryan 1-on-1 with Kolo Suliafu. They two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week stood tall, perfectly timing her tackle inside the 18-yard box to thwart the danger.

The physical play continued as the clock clicked down and in the 88^th minute, Suliafu was booked for her second yellow card of the match, putting the Huskies down to 10 players.

On the ensuing kickoff, Oregon's Lauren Kenny bundled the ball over the line after a UW clearance attempt caromed off the crossbar, giving the Ducks all three points in the regular season finale.
