Heading into the singles round, Bouchelaghem secured his win early on followed by Ivan Soldan. With four remaining close matches, Zharyn came out on top pushing the Dawgs to a win. The remaining matches proved to be tough, resulting in two tie-break matches from Soham Purohit winning 1-6, 6-3, (10-4) and Rohan Belday with a score of 5-7, 6-3, (10- 5). The Huskies ended the day with a final score of 7-0.
"It was good today to come out and play a tough Gonzaga team. They're a good team. They always compete well. So to come out here with a win today, we're super happy about that," said coach Rahim Esmail.
Esmail said he's looking forward to the upcoming week, pushing his team to be 1 percent better every day.
The Dawgs will return next weekend for two home matches. They will take on Utah on Friday at 5:00 p.m. and North Florida on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
