Huskies On Winning Streak
January 31, 2025 | Men's Tennis
With a packed crowd at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, the Huskies took down the Utah Utes today in their fourth match of the season.
Since their home opener, The Dawgs have been on a hot streak this season, winning their first three matches handedly.
Wins from Rohan Belday and Brett Pearson as well as Nedim Suko and Soham Purohit in the doubles round gave the Dawgs the upper hand, finishing the round leading 1-0.
The singles round led to similar results with UW winning out of the six matches. Dzianis Zharyn and Belday won their matches early on. Needing just one more point to secure the match, Soham Purohit came through winning his match 6-3, 6-3.
The Huskies finished the match leading 4-0.
Head Coach Rahim Esmail said the whole team came out strong, which helped them secure the win early on.
"I thought the guys got off to a really good start with their energy in the doubles and carried that and carried that on to the singles. Utah is a very tough team and we knew we had to compete from start to finish and we were able to do that pretty well today," he said.
Next up, the Huskies play again at home on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. against The University of North Florida
