Huskies Drop 65-60 Battle Against UCLA

SEATTLE – In a back-and-forth battle at Alaska Airlines Arena, Washington ended up on the short end of a 65-60 game against UCLA on Friday night.
Great Osobor scored the first seven points for Washington (10-10, 1-8), which led by seven just over halfway through the first half.
Mekhi Mason hit two 3-pointers as part of a 10-3 run that brought Washington to within four, 56-50, with 2:28 left. DJ Davis knocked down a 3-pointer with 1:39 left to get within three, and Vazoumana Diallo grabbed a loose ball and made an ensuing layup with 41 seconds left to pull the Huskies within three again, 60-57.
UCLA hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds remaining to effectively secure the victory.
Osobor made 6 of 12 shots from the field and 7 of 9 from the free throw line to lead the Huskies with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Franck Kepnang returned to the court after a 17-game absence and finished with seven points, eight rebounds and two blocks which ignited the crowd of 7,709 inside of Hec Ed.
Washington travels to Minnesota for a February 1 tilt on Big Ten Network.
