January 18, 2025 | Men's Tennis
The Huskies won their second match of the day against the Portland State Vikings today. After handedly winning their first match of the day, the Dawgs returned to the Nordstrom Tennis Center to face off in their second match of the season.
Their second match proved to be a similar bout with the huskies coming out strong with a 1-0 lead after the doubles round.
Wins from Zharyn, Purohit and Belday in the singles round helped the Huskies secure their victory for the second time today. Suko and Bouchelaghem also led in their matches but got caught short before securing their wins.
"It's a good start to the season. It's exactly what we needed and exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to get out today and we wanted to compete really hard in all areas," said head coach Rahim Esmail, "I thought we did a really good job across the board. There's obviously areas and room to work with and some things to work on but that's what we want. We want to keep challenging ourselves to get better every week and now get ready for next weekend."
The Dawgs will return for their next match on January 26 at 1:00pm at home against Gonzaga University.
