
Gymnastics Falls to Rutgers In Opening B1G Meet

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Strong performances from Olivia Oppegard and Emily Innes highlighted the day for Washington, but the Huskies fell short in their Big Ten opener, scoring 194.050 against Rutgers' 194.550.
Washington opened the meet on bars, with Oppegard earning a 9.800 to lead the rotation. Sophomore Kristin Lin made her 2025 season debut, scoring a solid 9.700. The Huskies closed the first rotation with a 48.075.
Vault proved to be Washington's second-strongest event of the afternoon, earning a 48.675. Innes captured a share of the event title with a 9.800, while Mary McDonough contributed a 9.775.
The Huskies entered the third rotation with a 96.750 and continued their momentum on floor. Innes secured the event title with a team-best 9.850, and McDonough delivered a strong routine for a 9.800.
Washington excelled on beam, scoring a 49.100 to outperform Rutgers' No. 10-ranked beam squad. Taylor Russon earned the event title with a 9.875, followed closely by Lana Navarro's 9.850. Innes and Oppegard added matching scores of 9.800.
