UW Men's Basketball Signs Sophomore Tyler Harris
May 18, 2024 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle announced another addition to the Huskies' roster as Portland transfer Tyler Harris signed with the team.
Harris, a 6'8" guard from Hayward, Calif., averaged 12.1 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game as a freshman for the Pilots last season. He led the team and ranked sixth in the West Coast Conference in rebounding, earning a spot on the All-WCC Freshman Team. He started 21 of 22 games played and shot 46 percent.
"Tyler had an impressive freshman season at Portland," Sprinkle said. "His unique size gives him the ability to do things that most guards can't. Our staff was most impressed with his rebounding and shot-making ability. He is a great talent to have on our team."
Harris recorded five double-doubles in his debut season, headlined by a 22-point, 12-rebound performance in his third collegiate game – both career highs against UC Riverside. He had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the season-opener.
