GymDawgs Conclude Pac-12 Competition At Oregon State
March 08, 2024 | Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 25th-ranked gymnastics team put up its second-highest team score this year as they finished second to No. 16 Oregon State, 196.950-197.225.
In the Huskies' final Pac-12 meet of the season, the team saw season-bests on beam (49.425) and the second highest floor score of the year (39.325).
Washington started on bars and after one rotation was neck-and-neck with the Beavers.
Lilly Tubbs finished fourth overall on bars in her first event of the evening with a 9.875, followed closely by Skylar Killough-Wilhelm and Deiah Moody's 9.850s which tied for fifth.
The Beavers gained a bit of separation after the conclusion of the second rotation as they earned a massive 49.450 on bars. The Huskies were led by Killough-Wilhelm (9.850) and Lana Navarro in the anchor spot who tied her career-high 9.900.
The GymDawgs narrowed that Beaver lead after the third rotation, outscoring OSU's 49.225 beam rotation with a 49.325 – a mark that matches their second-best so far this season.
Killough-Wilhelm, Emily Innes and Navarro wrapped up the final three floor performances for the Huskies, each earning a 9.900. The trio tied for second place overall behind one Oregon State 9.925 on the event.
The balance beam was the highlight of the night for Washington, with a handful of stuck landings to go along with strong scores. The Huskies did not register one mark below a 9.875, including Lilly Tubbs' 9.900 exhibition routine – to round out the night with a season-high event score of 49.425.
Chelsea Hallinan led off for the Huskies and matched her career-high 9.900 to tie for second with Tubbs and Taylor Russon.
The last time Washington scored a 49.425 on beam was March 11, 2022.
Oregon State registered a 49.450 on floor to take first place on the meet with a 197.225, their fourth straight 197+.
Killough-Wilhelm's 39.475 was enough to finish first in the all-around Friday night.
