Huskies Capture Series Over No. 14 UCLA

It is the first home series win over the Bruins since 2010 when the Huskies took two-of-three.
Lindsay Lopez (7-1) got the start tossing 5.1 innings with four strikeouts to pick up her seventh win. Sidne Peters came in relief throwing 0.2 frames with a strikeout and two earned runs. Ruby Meylan pitched the final inning with an earned run and a strikeout.
The Huskies plated three runs in the first to jump out to an early lead. Rylee Holtorf began the game with her sixth double and scored a couple batters later on a delayed steal. With a runner on, Alana Johnson sent her second home run in as many days to extend her home run total to eight.

Washington added to their lead in the fourth. Back-to-back singles from Kinsey Fiedler and Olivia Johnson put runners at the corners for Sydney Stewart. She sent a single up the middle that scored Fiedler and O. Johnson came around to score on a Bruin throwing error.
UCLA cut the UW lead down to four with a run in the sixth. The Huskies responded with a run of their own to bring the score to 6-1.
With bases loaded for the Bruins and no outs in the seventh, they brought in their second run on a wild pitch. Four consecutive walks scored two more runs, but the Huskies were able to get out of the inning and get its third consecutive conference series victory.
Washington and UCLA meet in the series finale on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for noon and airing on Pac-12 Network.
