Huskies Drop Series Finale To UCLA
March 24, 2024 | Softball
SEATTLE – No. 8 Washington fell in the series finale to No. 14 UCLA, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon at Husky Softball Stadium. The Huskies move to 22-5, 6-3 Pac-12 on the season.
Brooke Nelson (4-1) got the start, going two innings with two runs allowed and a pair of strikeouts. Ruby Meylan came on in relief, going four frames with four strikeouts and Sidne Peters threw the final inning.
Olivia Johnson and Avery Hobson notched hits in the contest for the Huskies.
UCLA jumped out to an early lead with solo home runs by Maya Brady in the first and Jordan Woolery in the second. The Bruins added a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly for the 3-0 advantage.
The Bruins tacked on to their lead with three runs in the seventh, to bring the game to its eventual final of 6-0.
