Pitcher’s Duel Goes To Arizona
March 17, 2024 | Softball
TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 22 Arizona took game three against No. 7 Washington 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The Huskies fall to 20-4 and 4-2 in Pac-12 action.
Sidne Peters got the start and went 2.1 innings with two hits allowed and a strikeout. Ruby Meylan (8-3) came on in relief tossing the final 4.2 frames and recorded six strikeouts with two walks allowed.
After five scoreless, Arizona brought across the first runs on a two-run home run by Olivia DiNardo in the bottom of the sixth.
Down to their final three outs, the Huskies looked for a rally but were unable to answer.
