Gymnastics Welcomes No. 4 Utah Saturday For NGWSD Meet

SEATTLE – Coming off a season-high 196.500 score against Stanford earlier this week, the Washington gymnastics team will welcome the fourth-ranked Utah Red Rocks to Alaska Airlines Arena Saturday afternoon.
The meet will begin at 12 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks. Jim Watson and Amanda Borden will be on the call.
Discounted tickets for Saturday's Purple Out meet are on sale until 11:59 p.m. Friday. Tickets are just $6 and can be purchased here.
Wear purple for Saturday's Purple Out meet, which will also celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day. If you purchased a cross-body bag promotional ticket for the meet, bags can be picked up outside of section 6 in the arena. Cross-body bags are sold out, so only those who purchased the ticket will receive a bag.
Limited edition Women of Washington posters will also be available in the concourse while supplies last, as well as 50th anniversary buttons.
THE COMPETITION – NO. 4 UTAH
Utah ranks fourth in the country for the second straight week and is amongst the top 10 across all four events. The Red Rocks sit at No. 8 on vault, No. 9 on bars, No. 2 on beam and No. 4 on floor.
The Red Rocks are coming off a win at home against No. 16 Oregon State with help from Maile O'Keefe's third 10.0 on beam, her third of the season. This performance solidified O'Keefe's spot in the Utah record book, tying for a top spot on the list of most perfect scores in a career with 14.
Historically, Utah is undefeated against the Huskies, holding a 69-0-2 record. The closest competition was a tying 195.975-195.975 in the 2013 season.
Utah's first year head coach Carly Dockendorf was a dual-sport athlete at the University of Washington from 2002-06, competing on the gymnastics team and starting pole vault as a sophomore at UW. She won the 2003 Pac-12 bars title with a perfect 10 and 48 total event titles during her tenure in Seattle.
LAST TIME OUT
Skylar Killough-Wilhelm is continuing her senior season of strong performances, most recently notching a new career-high all-around score of 39.575 at Stanford. The West Des Moines, Iowa native is tied for 11th in the nation on beam where she is averaging a 9.9 and holds a season-high 9.925.
Killough-Wilhelm has earned a 39.400+ all-around score three times this season. She has tied her career-high 9.925 on beam three times this season, and seven times in her career.
Taylor Russon tied with Killough-Wilhelm on Monday against Stanford for first place on beam, where the senior set a new career-high 9.925 on the event. This marked the first 9.9+ score on beam in her career, with her previous beam-best coming at Iowa with a 9.875.
Freshman Chelsea Hallinan showed she had a lot to prove in her first meet as a Husky, earning a 9.875 on beam in her college opener. Staying in the leadoff position on beam each meet since, Hallinan improved on her career-best with a 9.9 at Stanford.
In her first season competing on three events, Emily Innes currently holds season-highs of 9.875 on vault, 9.850 on beam and 9.925 on floor. Fellow sophomore Lilly Tubbs tied her season-best 9.850 on uneven bars in the last two competitions at UCLA and Stanford.
