Harrison Bertos Selected by San Diego FC

SAN DIEGO - Defender Harrison Bertos became the latest pro Husky on Friday when he was selected with the 31st overall pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft by San Diego FC. The sophomore defender joins a class of five picks by the MLS expansion team in San Diego which will make its MLS debut in 2025.
BertosΒ was instrumental to the Huskies' success in 2024, playing in all 21 matches and making 20 starts. He netted one goal and added an assist on the season, while also launching a career-high 11 shots, eight of which were on target.
He becomes Washington's 12th MLS SuperDraft pick in the last five drafts.
Per the MLS rules regarding collegiate eligibility, BertosΒ has the option to continue his career at Washington with his professional career rights held by San Diego.
A player who is drafted by an MLS club and has remaining college eligibility will have the option to return to school and further their development, but will not be draft-eligible in the future. A selected player who elects to go back to college or remains unsigned will have their SuperDraft Priority held by the drafting club for approximately two years following the SuperDraft, culminating on December 31 of the second year.
