
Carter, Jacobs Fall In NCAA Doubles Championships Opening Round

WACO, Texas – Reece Carter and Alexia Jacobs traveled to Waco, Texas for NCAA Doubles and Singles Championship action with no confirmed plan to play, as they were the No. 1 alternate doubles team heading into the tournament.
The 17th- ranked Dawgs stepped in and took the spots of a UC Santa Barbara pair and faced the No. 3 ranked doubles team in the country in Melodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky from Virginia on Wednesday afternoon.
Carter and Jacobs put up a fight, winning a 6-2 second set after dropping a close first set 7-5. The Cavaliers pulled away in a third set tiebreak 10-7 to advance to the round of 16 on Thursday.
