Great Osobor Tabbed To Karl Malone Award Watch List

SEATTLE – Preseason recognition continues to pour in for Washington big man Great Osobor as the senior was named to the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Top-20 Watch List on Thursday.
Osobor is one of four Big Ten bigs selected to the list, joining Illinois' Will Riley, Indiana's Malik Reneau and Maryland's Julian Reese.
The honor is just one of a myriad of preseason laurels during the preseason for Osobor, who was also named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team, selected as a Preseason All-American by CBS's John Rothstein and ESPN's Jay Bilas and ranked the No. 15 player in the nation by CBS.
The Bradford, England, native enters his first season in Purple and Gold after rising to stardom a season ago under UW head coach Danny Sprinkle at Utah State. Averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, Osobor garnered Mountain West Player of the Year and AP All-American Honorable Mention honors.
The Top-10 for the Karl Malone Award will be announced on Feb. 3, 2025.
Osobor and Washington begin the regular season next Tuesday, hosting UC Davis at Alaska Airlines Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. PT, airing on the Big Ten Network. Season tickets are on sale.
