
Keion Brooks Jr. Named To Julius Erving Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Washington forward Keion Brooks Jr. has been named a top-10 candidate for the 2024 Julius Erving Award, The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday.
Named after Hall of Famer Julius Erving, the award recognizes the top small forward in Division I men's college basketball.
In his second year at Washington, Brooks is averaging a Pac-12-best 20.6 points per game, which ranks in the top-25 in the country. He is also in the league's top-10 with a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game. Brooks is in the midst of a career year, shooting 50 percent overall and 40 percent from three-point range. Prior to this season, the Kentucky transfer had never made more than 30 percent of his threes.
Brooks is one of three DI players with averages of 20.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent overall and 40 percent from three. He is the only such player from a Power-5 school.
The fifth-year forward has scored 20 points in 15 games this season, including 10 of his last 12.

Fans can vote for Brooks starting Friday, February 2, on hoophallawards.com. The Fan Vote will count as one committee vote during the finalist selection process. In March, five finalists will be presented to Erving and the Hall of Fame's selection committee.
