Huskies Shutout Cal

BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 14 Washington secured its first Pac-12 win in a 1-0 victory at Cal on Sunday afternoon at Edwards Stadium.
Washington extends its unbeaten streak to five and moves to 3-1-3, 1-0-1 Pac-12 on the season.
After a scoreless first half, Mani Diop put the Huskies on the board in the 51st minute. Coming off the counter, Peter Kingston sent the ball to Cooper Brunell who dribbled it into the box for Diop to send a shot to the left side of the net for the 1-0 advantage. The goal is Diop's second of the season, third assist for Kingston and second assist for Brunell.
Sam Fowler recorded his third shutout of the season and the 28th of his career. Fowler moves to third all-time by himself in program history. He is now within two clean sheets of Spencer Richey's Pac-12 record.
The Husky defense did not allow a shot on goal for the first time this year.
Up next, the Huskies head back to Seattle for a matchup at Seattle U for the annual WAC/101 Club Cup on Thursday. Kickoff from Championship Field is set for 7 p.m. and airing on ESPN+.
