Washington Battles To Draw With No. 1 Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 14 Washington opened Pac-12 action with a 1-1 draw with No. 1 Stanford on Thursday night at Cagan Stadium.
The Huskies extended their unbeaten streak to four matches to move to 2-1-3 on the season and 0-0-1 in Pac-12 action. The three straight ties are a first in program history.
Noah Adnan gave the Cardinal the lead in the 39th off a corner kick by Will Reilly.
Richie Aman was able to draw a foul outside of the box to force the set piece for the Huskies. Chris Meyers was able to capitalize with his first goal of the season directly off the kick for the equalizer in the 43rd minute. It is the first goal for Meyers since Oct. 16, 2021 at Gonzaga.
Meyers led all players with four shots on the night. Sam Fowler recorded a pair of saves.
Up next, the Huskies continue conference opening weekend at Cal on Sunday. Kickoff from Berkeley is set for 2 p.m. and airing on Pac-12 Washington and Pac-12 Bay Area.
