August 21, 2023 | Men's Basketball
BARCELONA, Spain – Washington picked up its second win in Europe on Monday, beating the Spanish All-Stars 73-56.
"We were passing the ball well and shooting the ball well tonight," Coach Mike Hopkins said. "And, most importantly, we were learning each other and that's what these games are all about."
Keion Brooks Jr. and Christian King led the Dawgs in scoring with 16 points apiece. King made four of his six three-point shots while Brooks shot 8-for-15.
The team had 20 assists, led by Sahvir Wheeler's six helpers to compliment his nine points and four steals. Nate Calmese and Paul Mulcahy each recorded five assists.
The team racked up 13 steals in a game that was cut short in the fourth quarter due to court conditions.
The Huskies will continue touring Barcelona which has already included attending an FC Barcelona soccer match.
