
Washington Signs SDSU Transfer Jillian Celis

SEATTLE – Washington softball head coach Heather Tarr announced the signing of San Diego State transfer Jillian Celis on Monday.
In four seasons with the Aztecs, Celis started in every game (183) primarily as a middle infielder. Celis' career numbers include a .316 average, 107 RBI, 180 hits, 36 doubles, seven triples and nine home runs. She has also registered 18 stolen bases.
Under the development of former SDSU associate head coach and current Washington assistant Victoria Hayward, Celis averaged .332 with 121 hits, 13 doubles, seven triples and seven home runs during the 2022 and '23 seasons. Celis was named an All-Mountain West Second Team honoree in both those years. She averaged a career-best .343 with 49 RBI during the 2023 season that saw the Aztecs advance to Super Regionals. Celis was named the 2023 Mountain West Tournament MVP after recording five hits, four runs and seven RBI on the way to program's ninth championship.
Celis joins transfer Haley Winckler along with four freshman Giselle Alvarez, Jing Gardner, Jadyn Glab and Sidne Peters as part of the 2023 signing class.
