ATLANTA – Washington freshmen Tatum Thomason and Levi Hawk attended the 2023 NIL Summit, hosted at the College Football Hall of Fame from June 3-5.
The NIL Summit is an immersive multi-day professional development experience and gathering place for college sports' most important stakeholders to share cutting-edge ideas, discover new interests, and learn how to maximize NIL opportunities to build their brands and amplify their voices. Speakers at this year's summit included Meta's Nick Marquez, a handful of creators, brands, and student-athletes and administrators from schools around the country.
"The NIL Summit in Atlanta was definitely an unbelievable experience for me," said Hawk, a men's soccer student-athlete. "From both creative and philanthropic outlooks, collaborating with and learning from other likeminded student and professional athletes from around the country was inspiring and really demonstrated the influence and impact that us college athletes can have. I look forward to seeing the NIL world grow and continuing to use it – not only to benefit myself but to create positive change in our Seattle community, too."
"The NIL Summit was an unbelievable three days and I am so grateful to have been a part of it," said Thomason who plays on the women's soccer team. "Throughout the weekend, I learned how to build and promote my own personal brand, as well as how to take advantage of this growing area in college athletics. The event was so impactful and I'm excited to bring what I learned back to my team and community at UW."
