SEATTLE – Launched in the fall of 2024, Washington Athletics' influencer marketing platform, Dawgs Unleashed, has leveraged local and national business connections to procure endorsement opportunities for Husky student-athletes.
Seattle's rich business community has been at the forefront of collaboration with UW student-athletes. In conjunction with Learfield, Fortune 500 companies Alaska Airlines, Boeing, T-Mobile, Starbucks and Microsoft's Blizzard have helped pave the way with thoughtful and unique marketing deals.
"Student-athletes at the University of Washington have exceptional opportunities to develop their personal brands thanks to the global reach of this institution, and the visibility of competing in the city of Seattle and the Big Ten Conference," said Joe Knight, Executive Director of Dawgs Unleashed. "Our Dawgs Unleashed unit brings their platforms to life, and we appreciate all of the incredible businesses who continue to join our efforts to advance meaningful and innovative partnerships."
Jonah Coleman and Demond Williams Jr. promoted T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights campaign and signed autographs for Husky fans at a local T-Mobile store in Bellevue. The two also teamed up with Alaska Airlines for the 2025 UW Football welcome video that played at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.
Pepsi (Gatorade) and adidas are among the most active UW partners that have collaborated with Dawgs Unleashed and Husky student-athletes. Following a successful partnership between UW volleyball's Kierstyn Barton and Gatorade as part of a larger women's sports activation, UW football's Jacob Manu and Makell Esteen promoted bucket hat giveaways for fans.
Pole vault national champions Amanda Moll and Hana Moll were selected to be part of the adizero Evo shoe drop earlier this year.
UW hosted the first-ever adidas Strength Club on a college campus, where the Molls participated alongside UW men's basketball players Zoom Diallo and Wesley Yates III and UW softball's Alexis DeBoer.
Prior to the activation, several athletes, including Sayvia Sellers and Elle Ladine, posted videos unboxing adidas gear for the event.
UW football donned adidas Honor and Support uniforms against Purdue - the Huskies' Salute to Service game. Prior to the game, Tacario Davis and Dezmen Roebuck partnered with adidas to market the jerseys along with retail apparel.
The Dawgs Unleashed era began with a multi-faceted partnership with Blizzard Entertainment as part of the 20th-anniversary celebration for World of Warcraft. Washington football players went to Xbox Game Studios in Redmond, Wa. for a creative content experience and the sponsorship culminated in a home football matchup vs. the UCLA Bruins, where the game featured a "World of Warcraft" motif with fans, players, and other surprise elements that paid homage to the popular video game. Players to visit Xbox Game Studios included current Huskies Coleman, Denzel Boston and Adam Mohammed.
Other businesses to partner with Huskies include Facebook, Dick's Drive-In, Simply Seattle, CVS Pharmacy, LinkedIn, BECU, Angel of the Winds Casino Resort, Navy Federal Credit Union, Premera, local car dealerships, Silver Cloud Hotels, Stay Pineapple, ONIT, and the Space Needle among numerous other regional and Seattle-based businesses.
UW Athletics, in partnership with Greenfly, also hosted a creator workshop with Sam Green and Snapchat to help athletes build their brands and monetize social media content.
