UW And Dick’s Drive-In Launch Hometown Flavor Athlete Marketing Campaign
December 09, 2025 | Football, Men's Basketball, Softball, Gymnastics, Track & Field, Dawgs Unleashed
SEATTLE – The University of Washington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Dick's Drive-In have expanded their partnership to include influencer marketing with UW student-athletes to promote Hometown Flavor.
Dick's Drive-In, serving Seattle's favorite burgers, hand-cut fries, and real ice cream shakes since 1954, has been a partner to UW Athletics since 2023. Previous marketing activations centered around game sponsorships and have taken place in The Zone at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium and Husky Harbor, where Kenny Mayne and Danielle Lawrie tossed burgers to boaters participating in the famous Sailgating tradition before a Husky Football game.
The most recent Hometown Flavor campaign highlighted local UW athletes in the fourth iteration of the poster (UW football and UW rowing had previously been featured). Freshmen Evelyn DeYoung (gymnastics), Ally Hetzel (softball), Addison Kelly (track & field), Owen Powell (track & field) and Zaydrius Rainey-Sale (football) were selected for this year's poster shoot as Washington natives.
The poster will be a giveaway when Dick's Drive-In has a presence at Dubs Club at the Dec. 13 UW men's basketball game against Southern Utah.
Dick's Drive-In will partner with roughly 35 UW freshmen athletes this year to welcome the Washington natives to Seattle and UW.
The partnership was facilitated by Dawgs Unleashed in conjunction with Learfield's Huskies Sports Properties. View other Dawgs Unleashed activations and learn more about the opportunities available to UW student-athletes by visiting Dawgs-Unleashed.com.
