
Juskevicius Named Pac-12 Newcomer Of The Year; 3 Huskies Earn All-Pac-12

Washington freshman rower Povilas Juskevicius has been named 2023 Pac-12 Men's Rowing Co-Newcomer of the Year, while Husky oarsmen Max Heid, Logan Ullrich and Jack Walkey have all been named to the All-Pac-12 team.
Juskevicius, from Kaunas, Lithuania, has rowed in the UW varsity eight for the entirety of the 2023 season. Prior to joining the UW program, he won a gold medal at the 2021 World Rowing Junior Championships, and also competed at both World Rowing Under-23 and World Rowing Championships in 2022.
Three other regulars in the UW varsity eight earned spots on the all-conference team.
Heid, a senior from Seattle (Seattle Prep), won a national championship in the Huskies' third varsity eight in 2021 and then moved up to the second varsity eight for most of 2022 and the varstiy eight all of the current season.
Ullrich, a senior from Auckland, New Zealand, has rowed for Australia at the junior level and for New Zealand as an Under-23 National Team member. He's rowed in the Husky varsity eight for each of the last two seasons, and won the Visitors' Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2022.
Walkey, a senior from Victoria, B.C., Canada, was voted captain of the 2023 UW team. has spent three consecutive seasons as a stalwart in the varsity eight. Winner of the teams' Pigott Most Inspirational Award in 2021, he won a gold medal in the Canadian men's four at the 2021 World Rowing Under-23 Championships.
