Washington Drops Series Finale

TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 8 Washington (26-8, 7-5 Pac-12) fell in the series finale to Arizona State 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.
After two scoreless innings, the Huskies struck first after Brooklyn Carter stole home for the 1-0 advantage. Carter has 20 stolen bases on the year.
With one out in the fourth, Sami Reynolds drew a four pitch walk and SilentRain Espinoza hit her seventh double of the season to put runners in scoring position. Kinsey Fiedler was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Carter hit an infield single to extend Washington's lead to two.
Arizona State took the lead in the fourth on a grand slam by Savannah Price for the 4-2 advantage. ASU extended its lead to three with a solo home run on the fifth.
Washington returns home for a three-game series against Cal. First pitch from Husky Softball Stadium is set for Thursday, April 6 at 5 p.m. with all three games airing across Pac-12 Networks.
