LAS VEGAS – The Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament begins Wednesday with No. 8 Washington opposing No. 9 Colorado in the opening game at T-Mobile Arena. Tip-off is 12:00 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein and Don MacLean calling the action. Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton have the call on the Husky Sports Network, and locally on Sports Radio KJR-AM 950.
The Matchup
Washington swept the season series against Colorado for the first time since 2019. The Huskies have now won three consecutive games in the series and nine of the last 12. The last time the teams met in the Pac-12 Tournament was in the 2019 semifinals, when Washington won 66-61. That was the first-ever tournament meeting between the teams.
Pac-12 Accolades
Keion Brooks Jr. was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team, Braxton Meah earned All-Defense honors and Keyon Menifield was selected to the All-Freshman Team.
Milestones
Jamal Bey is 17 points away from 1,000 for his career. Head Coach Mike Hopkins became the sixth UW coach to win 100 games with a win over Oregon State. Jamal Bey passed Darnell Gant for most games played in a Husky uniform when he checked into his 141st game against Arizona. Keion Brooks Jr. scored his 1,000th career point with a first-half three against ASU. Noah Williams eclipsed the 1,000-point mark at USC.
Last Time Out
Washington shot 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from three but Thursday's shootout went Washington State's way as the Cougars took a 93-84 victory at Alaska Airlines Arena. Game recap
League Leaders
Washington is tied for the Pac-12 lead and ranks 10th in the NCAA in blocks per game (5.3). The Huskies also have the second-best success at the free throw line of any team in the conference. Their three-point defense ranks atop the league leaderboard and is 16th nationally.
