Huskies Sign Four-Star Guard Chavis To 2024-25 Roster

MINNEAPOLIS – Washington men's basketball signed four-star guard Casmir Chavis to a letter of intent on National Signing Day Wednesday, the Huskies' first commit in the 2024 class.
"He's a hard worker and really talented," Head Coach Mike Hopkins said. "He competes hard on the defensive end as well as offensively. He fits our system and our culture and we're really excited to get him. He's got a great future."
Chavis currently plays at Park Center Senior High School in Minneapolis and is ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in Minnesota. He won a state championship as a sophomore and is a three-time conference champion as well as a First-Team All-State selection. Chavis has been a team captain of the basketball team for two seasons and also plays wide receiver on the Park Center football team.
The signing builds upon a strong group of underclassmen that includes 2023 four-star signee Wesley Yates III, sophomore Koren Johnson and freshman Christian King.
