No. 5 UW Clinches Pac-12 Championship Berth With 22-20 Victory Over No. 10 OSU

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- No. 5 Washington forced three turnovers andย remained undefeated to clinchย a spot in the Pac-12 championship game with a 22-20 victory over No. 10 Oregon State on Saturday.
Michael Penix Jr. threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, his third-straight game with a rushing touchdown. Rome Odunze caught seven passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns for the Huskies (11-0, 8-0, No. 5 CFP), who have won 18 straight games.
Penix completed 13 of 28 passes for 162 yards. He has thrown for 30 touchdowns this season. The Huskies snapped a nine-game home winning streak for Oregon State.
The Beavers closed to within 22-20 on Atticus Sappington's 35-yard field goal with 10:40 left in the game. Washington was forced to punt on the next series, but the Husky defense forced an incomplete pass on fourth down to seal the victory.
The win kept Washington alone atop league standings in front of No. 6 Oregon.
On Washington's first series of the game, Penix hit Odunze with a 12-yard touchdown pass in a steady downpour.

The Huskies went up 9-2 on a safety when Oregon State misplayed a punt with a bad snap that went over the head of the punter.
Washington also won the turnover battle, forcing a fumble and that was recovered on the Oregon State 19. The Huskiesย went on to score on Penix's five-yard keeper.
Jabbar Muhammad intercepted DJย Uiagaleleiย twice, first endingย the first half.
Oregon State closed the gap with aย 38-yard field goal, but Washington capped the first half with Penix's 38-yard scoring pass to Odunze to lead 22-10.
Washington hosts Washington State in the Boeing Apple Cup next Saturday at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tickets are sold out.
