SEATTLE – The Husky duo of Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn are into the round of 16 at the ITA Fall National Championships after getting a straight set win in their opening match today. The Dawgs will play for a spot in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
Bouchelaghem and Zharyn were one of just 32 pairs to qualify for the prestigious national championship. They defeated the NCAA D-II qualifiers from Washburn University, Rendon/Hammes, with a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
Tomorrow, the Dawgs will face No. 5-8 seeds Suresh/Koons of Wake Forest.
