Huskies Remain Undefeated After 1-0 Win Over Texas Tech

SEATTLE – Behind Vanessa Millsaps' 68th minute strike, the Washington women's soccer team defeated Texas Tech, 1-0, on Thursday to improve to 4-0-1 on the season.
Shae Holmes sent a free kick into the box and the ball found Millsaps for the tally. The graduate student has four goals in her career.
Olivia Sekany saved a pair of shots on her way to recording her fourth shutout of the season. The Huskies are now a perfect 3-0 at home.
It is just the second time since 2012 the Huskies have a begun the season with no losses through their first five games, matching the team's 4-0-1 start to the 2020-21 campaign.
The Red Raiders made seven saves on the day on Washington eight shots on goal.
Summer Yates led the team with four shots, while Helena Reischling recorded three. Kyla Ferry, Tatum Thomason, Shae Holmes and McKenzie Weinert all recorded a shot.
The Dawgs will be back at Husky Soccer Stadium when they play host to cross-town rival Seattle U Sunday at 3 p.m. The game will air on Pac-12 Networks.
