Huskies Set For NCAA Regionals In Stockton

The Washington men's golf team travels Stockton, Calif., where they'll compete this Monday through Wednesday, May 16-18, to earn a spot at the NCAA National Championships May 27-June 1 in Scottsdale.

The Huskies will play at the NCAA Stockton Regional, at The Reserve at Spanos Park. The 54-hole, three-day tournament will be held on the par-72, 7,315-yard course.

The Huskies are one of 14 teams that will compete in Stockton, After three rounds of play, the low five teams and one individual (among those not on those five teams) advance to nationals at Grayhawk Golf Club at the end of the month.

The NCAA men's golf tournament field includes 81 teams in total, with either 13 or 14 teams at each of six regional sites (others besides Stockton are: Norman, Okla.; Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; Columbus, Ohio; Bryan, Texas; and New Haven, Conn.).

The 30 teams and six individuals that advance to Scottsdale will play three rounds before the field is cut in half. Those 15 teams will play a fourth round, with the top-eight finishing teams advancing to match play quarterfinals.

Washington will field the following five-man lineup to Stockton:

On Monday, Washington's players will tee off of hole No. 1, beginning at 7:30 a.m. PT, playing alongside Arizona State and Stanford's golfers. Second- and third-round pairings and tee times will be determined by team standings.
