Washington Hosts Seattle U in Midweek Matchup

SEATTLE – The No. 11 Washington Huskies return Husky Softball Stadium to begin a five-game homestand when they host Seattle U on Tuesday night.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed via the Washington live stream. Tickets for Tuesday's game are available for purchase by clicking here.
Last weekend, the Huskies traveled to Eugene and swept No. 19 Oregon in their three-game series. Gabbie Plain picked up all three wins in the series and earned her 100th career win and 1000th career strikeout in the process. Plain was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after her stellar weekend. Madison Huskey led Washington at the plate, going 6-for-11 with six RBI and two home runs. Huskey hit her first career grand slam in the series opener.
LEADER OF THE PAC
Baylee Klingler currently leads the Pac-12 in home runs (19) and batting average (.444). The 19 homers are the fourth-most in the nation and the .444 batting average is 12th. Her 56 RBI are the fourth-most by an individual in the NCAA.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE
Gabbie Plain continues to rewrite the Husky record books in her fifth and final year. This season, she ranks third with 143 strikeouts in the Pac-12. The senior leads the Pac-12 with eight shutouts and fifth nationally, after recording two this past weekend at Oregon. She's earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors three times this season after
opening the season with back-to-back nods and after her performance this past weekend at Oregon.
TOUGH SCHEDULE
Washington has compiled a tough schedule thus far. In the first 39 games, the Huskies have faced 11 Top 25 opponents and hold a record of 12-8. Two of the four remaining series will see the Huskies face current USA Today/NFCA Top 25 opponents No. 24 Stanford (4/29-5/1) and No. 13 Arizona State (5/12-14).
AWARD SEASON
A pair of Huskies have been named finalist for two awards over the past week. Gabbie Plain was recognized as one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award. Senior infielder Baylee Klingler was named as one of 25 nominees for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.

The Huskies are 19-0 all-time vs. Seattle U dating back to 2008.
SCOUTING SEATTLE U
Seattle U is led at the plate by Olivia Viggiano with a .340 batting average and nine stolen bases. Carley Nance leads the team with 13 home runs and 53 RBI on the season to go along with her .320 batting average.
