
Washington Advances To 7-0 In Win Over Aztecs

SEATTLE, Wash.— The Washington men's tennis team beat San Diego State, 4-0, at home in the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Huskies (7-0) continue to find success in their consistent and aggressive style of play.
In singles, it was a dominant win for Nedim Suko on court five who beat Jules Auffray of San Diego State 6-0, 6-2.
On court four, Han-Chih Lin was able to get an early lead and keep it throughout the entirety of the match. He won 6-2, 6-1.
Ewen Lumsden was competing on court three, he won the first set 6-4. In the second, he secured a dominant 6-0 win, clinching the match win for the Dawgs.
The remaining matches were called off once the Huskies clinched. On court one, No. 3 Clement Chidekh won the first set 7-5 after his opponent, Johannes Seeman, tied it at 4-4. Jack Davis was in the two spot, he won 6-3 in the first set. Freshman, Cesar Bouchelaghem, also won his first set 6-3.
In the double's matchups, Washington won the point in dramatic fashion. San Diego State had a win at the No. 1 spot, and UW was down a break on both courts two and three, but rallied. On court two, Chidekh and Suko won 6-4 over Seeman and Mandma. On court three, Bouchelaghem and Lumsden saved a match point with a deciding point at 3-5, winning it to get back on serve, then breaking for a 6-5 lead and serving it out, 7-5.
Next, Washington will face Portland State at home on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1:00 p.m. PT
