Miglietti Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

SEATTLE β Washington men's soccer defender Gio Miglietti has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Β
Β
This is the first Player of the Week honor of Miglietti's career. He now has three goals on the season as a defender. Β
Β
In the Huskies' 3-3 draw with No. 5 Stanford on Sunday, Miglietti netted two goals to earn his second career brace. His last came against Saint Louis in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals in 2021.Β

His first goal of the afternoon came on a penalty kick that served as the equalizer in the 23rd minute. Washington took its first lead against the ranked CardinalΒ in the 70th minute when Miglietti scored his second. Meek was awarded aΒ free kick that Meyers sent into the six-yard line for Miglietti to notch into the goal. Β

Miglietti matched a career high four points Sunday with the two goals to help keep the Dawgs undefeated on the year.

The Huskies (13-0-3) set a new program record with the tie Sunday afternoon for the best start of a season with a 16-game unbeaten streak. Β

This is the fifth Pac-12 Player of the Week accolade for the Huskies this season with Lucas Meek (Oct. 10), Christian Soto (Aug. 29) and Ilijah Paul (Sept. 5, Sept. 19) earning honors earlier this year. Β
