Meek Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week
October 10, 2022 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE – For the first time this season, senior midfielder Lucas Meek has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. This is his second career weekly honor.
Over the two contests, Meek factored into all four goals, with two goals of his own and tallied two assists for six total points.
In the Huskies Top-5 matchup with No. 5 Stanford, Meek recorded his second brace of the season. Meek also assisted on Nick Scardina's goal in the 29th minute. He set a new career-high in single-game points with five in the contest.
On Sunday, Meek added his second assist of the weekend on Gio Miglietti's game-winner in the 1-0 win over Cal.
Meek leads the nation with 25 total points on the year, while eighth in total goals (9) and fifth in total assists (7).
Washington now has four Pac-12 Player of the Week accolades this season with Christian Soto (Aug. 29) and Ilijah Paul (Sept. 5, Sept. 19) earning honors earlier this year. The Huskies have tied a program record with four conference awards on the year, also doing so in 2003 and 2013.
The Huskies host Gonzaga for their final non-conference matchup of the season on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium. Tickets are available by clicking here.
