Chidekh Makes Quarterfinal Run In ATP Challenger

SEATTLE - Clement Chidekh reached the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger pro event in Cassis, France this week, eventually falling in a very tight match against a former world No. 10. Heading into his second Husky season, the run was a great dose of confidence for Chidekh, who had a wildcard entry into the event in his home country.
Chidekh started with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Arthur Cazaux, ranked No. 359, in the round of 32. In the round of 16, he earned a win over Hiroki Moriya by a decisive 6-3, 6-0 count. Moriya is currently ranked 286th in the world and has been as high as No. 143.
In the quarterfinals, Chidekh went up against Lucas Pouille, ranked as high as No. 10 in the world in his career and currently ranked No. 133. Chidekh battled all the way, dropping a 7-6, 6-4 decision.
Former Husky Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan was in the same tournament, playing in the doubles draw, but was upset in the round of 16.
