TEMPE, Ariz. – An overtime nail-biter ended with the Washington Huskies and Arizona State Sun Devils tying 1-1. Washington is 4-0-2 on the season, the latest into a season the Huskies have been undefeated since 2012, when they started 7-0-1.

Olivia Sekany was exquisite in goal, making a career-high eight saves. Ruby Hellstrom extended her point streak to three games, scoring Washington's only goal in the game. Mary Johnston and Karlee Stueckle had assists, Stueckle's her first point of the season.

The Huskies still have not trailed in a game in 2021. With the win over Arizona on Friday, this was Washington's first undefeated Pac-12 road trip since 2017.

Washington nearly had the winner off a long free kick in the second overtime. The ball squirted out of the keeper's hands as she collided with a teammate, leaving a free ball in the box. Washington got several hacks at it but couldn't push it past the Sun Devil defenders that crashed into the goalmouth.

That was just one of many dangerous chances for the Huskies, who came one lucky bounce away from a goal a number of times. Midway through the second half, a Summer Yates corner kick bounced around the box for a long time after the keeper went to ground, with Arizona State just barely able to block the ball away. Washington would end the day with nine shots in the second half and overtime but couldn't find a second goal to win it.

18' \| For the second time in as many games, Hellstrom scored with her head. This one came on a Stueckle cross after Johnston led Stueckle to the corner with a perfectly-placed throw-in. 27' \| Arizona State fought back, scoring on a quick shot from high in the middle of the box to make it 1-1. It was just the second goal Washington has allowed all season long.

		NOTES
Sekany's scoreless streak ended after 163 minutes, her second scoreless streak of 150+ minutes as Husky. Five of Washington's nine goals this year have come from set pieces or throw-ins. Washington's six corners in the first half were its most in a single half this season. This was the first time Washington has been outshot this season. Washington has had double-digit shots in every game this season and in ten straight stretching back to 2019.
