Freshman Suko's Regional Run Wraps In Semis

EUGENE, Ore. -- A great first week as a Husky wrapped up today for freshman Nedim Suko, as he fell in a hard-fought semifinal at at the ITA Fall Northwest Regionals hosted by Oregon at the Student Tennis Center. Despite the loss, Suko had already qualified to compete in next week's ITA Super Regionals, which the Huskies will host starting next Friday, Oct. 22.
Suko had won three matches to reach the semis, the last two in third sets, and he went the distance again today against Gonzaga's Arthus de la Bassetiere. Suko won the first set in a tiebreak, but the Bulldog took sets two and three by 6-4 counts to make the final.
Suko, Han-Chih Lin, Clement Chidekh, Ewen Lumsden, and Jack Davis are all qualified for the singles portion of the 32-player Super Regionals.
