SEATTLE -- Three Huskies opened their 2021-22 seasons last week in Tulsa at the ITA All-American Championships, and now the ITA Northwest Regional brings about the fall season opener for six more Huskies. Returners Han-Chih Lin, Adam Torocsik, Nikit Reddy and Jack Pulliam; and freshmen Nedim Suko and Rikuto Yamaguchi are all embedded in Eugene, Ore. where the Ducks will host Regionals starting Wednesday, Oct. 13, until Sunday, Oct. 17.
Matches will take place at Oregon's Student Tennis Center. The five day regional at Oregon will be followed by a Super Regional that Washington will host at the Nordstrom Tennis Center from Oct. 22-25. Singles players that reach the quarterfinals and doubles teams that make the semifinals at Oregon will advance to the Super Regionals. Ultimately, the singles finalists and doubles champions from Super Regionals earn a spot at the ITA Fall National Championships.
There are also auto qualifiers for Super Regionals, which includes Huskies Clement Chidekh (Singles/Doubles), Ewen Lumsden (Singles), Jack Davis (Singles/Doubles), Nedim Suko (Doubles), and Brandon Wong (Doubles). Chidekh has also already earned a spot to ITA Fall Nationals by virtue of his semifinals run at the All-American Championships this past week.
Aside from the Huskies and Ducks, competing teams at Regionals include Gonzaga, Seattle U., Portland State, Portland, and Eastern Washington.
