Huskies Score Six In Third, Win 10-0
February 09, 2020 | Softball
ATLANTA Β β The #1 Washington Huskies finished off an undefeated weekend with an 10-0 win over the Furman Paladins Sunday. This was the third time in five games that Washington has scored in double digits to start 2020. Washington moves to 5-0 on the young season with the win.
Pat Moore made her first appearance of the year and went the distance in the circle, earning the shutout win. It was Moore's 15th career win and 10th career complete game. This was also Moore's second consecutive start in which she only allowed one hit, stretching back to 2019.
Washington's leadoff batters reached safely in all but one inning. Eight different Huskies scored at least one run, led by Sis Bates and Jadelyn Allchin, who each scored two. Similarly, eight Huskies had hits in the game: every single starter reached base at least once, as did 12 of the 13 Huskies to appear and the game.
Washington scored in every inning of the game, led by a six-run third inning that was the biggest inning of the year thus far for the Dawgs. Allchin, Baylee Klingler, Kelley Lynch, and Megan Vandegrift all drove in runs in that inning.
With the Buzz Classic finished, Washington will head to Orlando to play UCF this Wednesday at 3:30 pm PT before beginning the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Elite Invitational Thursday.
